Noise Pop sprang to life in 1993; a single night in a small club showcasing the best that the burgeoning underground music scene San Francisco had to offer. Over the last 15 years it has developed into one of the country’s leading independent music festivals featuring many influential artists and musicians. The event has achieved grassroots and critical success as well as international recognition. Over the course of five days, Noise Pop now includes a film festival, an educational series, and art openings. It is a music-lover’s celebration - the shows sell out, people have fun, and every year the event grows in size and scope.
MUSIC
Many of the most important artists of our time - including The White
Stripes, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, The Flaming
Lips, The Shins, Bright Eyes, and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco have played
Noise Pop stages. With numerous shows for crowds ranging from 100 to
1,200 and dozens of established and emerging artists, Noise Pop is
the premier festival in San Francisco for live independent music.

ART
Incredible visual art has always been a crucial element of Noise Pop
with original festival posters designed by internationally recognized
artists such as Jesse Ledoux, Shepard Fairey and Thomas Campbell. The
Noise Pop Festival includes art shows, an independent apparel designers
showcases and other art events.
FILM
Noise Pop’s Annual Film Festival presents the very best in cutting-edge
music related features and shorts from around the world. The Noise Pop
Film Festival will run concurrent with the music festival at various
theaters throughout San Francisco. Past screenings have included such
films as “The Fearless Freaks” The Flaming Lips documentary, “X:
The Unheard Music,” and “Directions: Death Cab for Cutie".
CULTURE
The Noise Pop Expo is a multiple day event that features music, entertainment
and technology panel discussions, special performances, a dedicated artist
press / media area, indie designer showcase and tradeshow booths.
